History of Yarrawarrah
The Tharawal people are the original residents of Yarrawarrah, with Yarrawarrah meaning "mountain ash" in Aboriginal.
The region was known as North Engadine before the Geographical Names Board recognized Yarrawarrah as a suburb in 1971.
Yarrawarrah is also the name of a ridge that used to be located between Heathcote and Waterfall.

Yarrawarrah Reserve is a tiny local level playground located next to the clubhouse and playing fields. The border of the grounds is fenced, but the openings are not.
