History of Dolans Bay
Dolans Bay was named for Patrick Dolan, a local landowner, and maybe after his son, Dominick Dolan.
In 1856, Patrick Dolan bought around 286 acres of land adjacent to the bay. In 1858, Mary and Andrew Webster paid 108 pounds and 15 shillings for their land in this region, plus a yearly peppercorn quit fee. In 1863, the Websters sold their land to Dominick Dolan.
